Where does the figure end and the color field begin? On the 16x20 in (40x50 cm) canvas, a seated female figure leans back through turquoise, violet, coral, and cream strokes in this abstract seated woman paint by numbers kit.

Thick, layered color across the shoulder, torso, and bent leg favors 36 colors, which keeps more intermediate turquoise, violet, and warm skin tones through the curved forms. At 24 colors, those areas resolve into broader blue, coral, cream, and purple blocks that strengthen the abstract rhythm.

The slim hand contours, neck edge, and shifting color boundaries around the head require accurate placement across the otherwise broad painted shapes.

An adult painter drawn to expressive figure studies and saturated color can focus on recognizable anatomy inside loose, energetic brushwork. The elongated pose depends on the open spaces around the waist and arms, keeping the silhouette clear through the broken color.

We recommend the 36-color version for this design.

No experience is required. Every canvas is clearly numbered, guiding you step by step. Thousands of first-time painters have completed their first artwork with our kits – and loved the result.

You'll not only enjoy the process but also experience the "wow effect" when you see your finished painting come to life.

Everything you need arrives in one box:

• Pre-printed numbered canvas in the size shown in the Size menu above
• Acrylic paint set (24 or 36 colors – always enough to finish, and we'll send extra for free if you ever run out)
• 3 premium artist brushes (different sizes for details and larger areas)
• Reference color chart & printed guide
• Step-by-step instructions
• Optional: Pre-stretched frame (ready to hang)

24 or 36 colors — which version?

It's simply how many different shades the design is painted with. The 24-color version has a clean, classic look and is a little easier to paint. The 36-color version adds extra shades for smoother blending and a more realistic finish. Both come with all the paint you need to complete your canvas — the number is about shades, not how much paint.
