Painting it is a different experience from a landscape. There's no large area to lose momentum in — you finish a strawberry, then a cluster of blueberries, then a wedge of orange, and each one is its own small completed thing. The 24-color version gives you a punchier, more graphic bowl of fruit — bold reds, one clean orange, strong greens. This design was built for 36 though: the apples turn from yellow through coral to deep red across a single fruit, the grapes carry three or four pinks apiece, and the wet highlights on the citrus skin need those extra steps to read as shine rather than a pale patch. We recommend the 36-color version for this design.
