Lily Pad Frog Paint by Numbers Kit

The frog's large eyes give its patterned face a watchful expression beneath the circular sun ornament. On the 16x20 in (40x50 cm) canvas, a broad lily pad and tall cattails surround the animal in this frog paint by numbers kit.

Across the frog's cream belly, 24 colors emphasize the large leaf-shaped motifs with clear blocks of green and ochre. With 36 colors, the shading under the chin and around the rounded belly becomes more gradual.

This design suits painters who enjoy animal portraits with botanical folk ornament because the frog's broad silhouette stays clear among the repeated shapes.

The narrow rings around the eyes and the small spots along the legs need precise placement to preserve their patterns. Once finished, the large eyes and golden sunburst remain prominent even when the painting is viewed at a distance.

We recommend the 36-color version for this design.

24 or 36 colors — which version?

It's simply how many different shades the design is painted with. The 24-color version has a clean, classic look and is a little easier to paint. The 36-color version adds extra shades for smoother blending and a more realistic finish. Both come with all the paint you need to complete your canvas — the number is about shades, not how much paint.
