Rainbow Hummingbird Paint by Numbers Kit

A painter who enjoys high-color wildlife with plenty of open background gets a clear focal subject here because the bird stands alone against white. This rainbow hummingbird paint by numbers kit centers a long-billed bird with raised wings built from turquoise, blue, green, violet, pink, and gold shapes.

On the 16x20 in (40x50 cm) canvas, the hummingbird fills most of the height while open white space surrounds the silhouette. Precision is concentrated in the eye, speckled throat, wing feathers, and narrow tail tips; the plain background removes extra detail.

24 colors keep the wings and tail feathers in crisp, saturated streaks that suit the segmented illustration. At 36 colors, the same plumage gains extra intermediate shades between teal, blue, violet, pink, green, and gold.

We recommend the 24-color version for this design.

• Optional: Pre-stretched frame (ready to hang)

24 or 36 colors — which version?

It's simply how many different shades the design is painted with. The 24-color version has a clean, classic look and is a little easier to paint. The 36-color version adds extra shades for smoother blending and a more realistic finish. Both come with all the paint you need to complete your canvas — the number is about shades, not how much paint.
