Ribbon Christmas Tree Paint by Numbers Kit

Most Christmas trees are a green triangle, but this one is built from sweeping curved boughs with a cream ribbon spiraling down through them. A faceted gold star crowns the top, and round baubles hang between the layers.

On the 16x20 in (40x50 cm) canvas the tree takes up nearly the full height, so this Christmas tree paint by numbers kit gives the star and ribbon plenty of room.

Step up to 36 colors and the star facets and ribbon curves pick up softer, more gradual light. At 24 colors they stay as crisp graphic planes, and the whole canvas finishes sooner.

The star facets and ribbon curves need the most attention; the green boughs and the open background are broad, forgiving shapes.

Suits a first holiday canvas, and works for a relative who has never painted and likes a seasonal piece to hang each December.

We recommend the 24-color version for this design.

24 or 36 colors — which version?

It's simply how many different shades the design is painted with. The 24-color version has a clean, classic look and is a little easier to paint. The 36-color version adds extra shades for smoother blending and a more realistic finish. Both come with all the paint you need to complete your canvas — the number is about shades, not how much paint.
