Nearly every fox on the market is painted against autumn leaves or snow. This one goes for high summer, and the effect is different — the orange coat against dense green reads as a complementary contrast rather than a seasonal match, and it stays on the wall all year without looking out of season.

The realism is convincing without being photographic: fur drawn in directional strokes, leaves as layered clusters rather than individual outlines.

Most of the canvas is foliage. That's steady, absorbing work, and it's where the tonal range matters.

The 24-color version brings the fox forward with stronger contrast against a simplified background. This wildlife paint by numbers is better matched to 36: the greens run from sunlit yellow-green through mid-green to near-black in the shadows, and the coat steps from cream through gold to deep rust — those in-between shades are what keep the forest reading as depth instead of a flat wall. We recommend the 36-color version for this design.
