The cross is still; everything around it moves. A Van Gogh style cross paint by numbers kit places a wooden cross above a mountain valley beneath a crescent moon on the 16x20 in (40x50 cm) canvas.

The curved sky strokes, broken rock highlights, and dense foliage require steady attention through many small directional shapes.

Most of the tonal variation sits in the spiraling sky and along the illuminated ridge. 36 colors keep the blue-to-gold shifts gradual there, while 24 colors give the same areas stronger, cleaner bands.

The contrast between a still Christian symbol and an active night sky suits a painter who wants religious art with substantial detail and strong visual movement. On the wall, the dark cross stays visually firm against the sweeping blue and gold sky.

We recommend the 36-color version for this design.

No experience is required. Every canvas is clearly numbered, guiding you step by step. Thousands of first-time painters have completed their first artwork with our kits – and loved the result.

You'll not only enjoy the process but also experience the "wow effect" when you see your finished painting come to life.

Everything you need arrives in one box:

• Pre-printed numbered canvas in the size shown in the Size menu above
• Acrylic paint set (24 or 36 colors – always enough to finish, and we'll send extra for free if you ever run out)
• 3 premium artist brushes (different sizes for details and larger areas)
• Reference color chart & printed guide
• Step-by-step instructions
• Optional: Pre-stretched frame (ready to hang)

24 or 36 colors — which version?

It's simply how many different shades the design is painted with. The 24-color version has a clean, classic look and is a little easier to paint. The 36-color version adds extra shades for smoother blending and a more realistic finish. Both come with all the paint you need to complete your canvas — the number is about shades, not how much paint.
