Van Gogh Style Lion Paint by Numbers Kit

A golden-maned lion stands on a blue rock beneath a crescent moon and rolling night sky in this Van Gogh style lion paint by numbers kit. The layered mane around the cheeks and chest, together with the small shapes around the eyes and muzzle, requires precise placement through dense directional strokes.

An experienced painter looking for a wildlife subject with layered fur and an active background will find detail across the entire scene.

On the 16x20 in (40x50 cm) canvas, the upright lion occupies much of the height while the sweeping sky remains visible around its silhouette. From farther back, the warm mane stays strongly separated from the deep blue landscape.

More colors serve the face first: 36 colors keep finer tawny, cream, brown, and shadow shifts around the eyes, muzzle, and inner mane. At 24 colors, these areas form broader amber and brown strokes while the swirling sky retains its strong blue-and-gold pattern.

We recommend the 36-color version for this design.

24 or 36 colors — which version?

It's simply how many different shades the design is painted with. The 24-color version has a clean, classic look and is a little easier to paint. The 36-color version adds extra shades for smoother blending and a more realistic finish. Both come with all the paint you need to complete your canvas — the number is about shades, not how much paint.
