The sea never settles in this design. A Van Gogh style ocean wave paint by numbers kit places a curling breaker beneath a golden crescent moon, surrounded by foaming water, distant hills, and a spiraling blue sky.

Step up to 36 colors and the curling crest carries finer changes from navy through turquoise to pale foam, while the moon reflection moves through more gold steps. At 24 colors, those same areas form broader blue-and-gold bands that emphasize the wave shapes.

The foaming crest, overlapping wave edges, and tightly curved sky strokes require accurate placement through dense, irregular shapes. On the 16x20 in (40x50 cm) canvas, the main breaker has enough space to dominate the foreground while smaller waves carry the movement toward the horizon.

The subject fits painters who want a marine landscape driven by strong motion, with detailed water and patterned brushwork extending across the entire scene.

We recommend the 36-color version for this design.

No experience is required. Every canvas is clearly numbered, guiding you step by step. Thousands of first-time painters have completed their first artwork with our kits – and loved the result.

You'll not only enjoy the process but also experience the "wow effect" when you see your finished painting come to life.

Everything you need arrives in one box:

• Pre-printed numbered canvas in the size shown in the Size menu above
• Acrylic paint set (24 or 36 colors – always enough to finish, and we'll send extra for free if you ever run out)
• 3 premium artist brushes (different sizes for details and larger areas)
• Reference color chart & printed guide
• Step-by-step instructions
• Optional: Pre-stretched frame (ready to hang)

24 or 36 colors — which version?

It's simply how many different shades the design is painted with. The 24-color version has a clean, classic look and is a little easier to paint. The 36-color version adds extra shades for smoother blending and a more realistic finish. Both come with all the paint you need to complete your canvas — the number is about shades, not how much paint.
